In honor of my first official long run of marathon training, there is a theme…
1. I love that my long-distance running partner – who is not currently training for a marathon – is willing to meet me a few miles in to help get me through the tough parts. This will be especially helpful in about 3 weeks when long runs are like 17mi and I am wondering why I do this.
2. The feeling of smug I get from running the better part of 5mi uphill and into the wind.
3. The feeling of respite I get from running downhill with only the slightest of breezes for the remaining 8mi of said run.
4. A long, warm shower when it’s all done. Miles logged.
